This is the ultimate sound file for the game Marathon. Marathon originally released with a set of sounds that didn't do the game justice. This sound file currently replaces nearly every sound in the Marathon Sound file.
The intent of this sound file is to make the Marathon experience more intense and realistic. These sounds should complement the graphics and game play.
Each sound has been individually digitilized, examined, edited, and imported into the Marathon Sounds file by myself. Many of the sounds were pulled from popular movies. The sounds were edited for quality, brevity, timing, and graphics complementation.
Hopefully you will find these sounds more comfortable and better fitting; ultimately making the Marathon experience a better one.
ATTN: This file contains mild profanity in resources 1411 and 1414. These are among the Bob random sound resources. 1411-1414 are optional, the game does not require them but it does make the game more fun.
Thanks to Mike Gaines AKA starman@intac.com for posting the info about random Bob sounds.

Problems? Since this sound file is slightly larger than the original, you may have to increase the application's allocated memory. P.S. max it out dude.
Versions:
2.2 Hopefully out by mid March. This sould be timed with MaraSND. Will change sounds many people may not be happy with in 2.1. This means you; e-mail me if you don't like something.
2.1 Changed nearly every sound. Edited sounds towards brevity and content for better game play and distinctive identification. Not happy with a couple of sounds, but we'll get to that next time.
2.0 Changed over to the full version. Only half of the sounds found in the demo are changed here, none of the new sounds have been changed.
1.5 Never released. Changed about half of the sounds in the file.
1.0 Changed about 15 sounds, mainly weapons sounds and switch sounds.
Future Projects:
Version 2.x of the Marathon Sounds file. I'll continue to change these sounds to increase the overall quality of the audio.
Simpsons sound file?
Star Trek sound file?
Pink Floyd sound file?
MaraSnd: This application will allow the user to custom construct their own sound file from libraries of sounds myself and others have recorded. The user can select, play, install and deinstall sounds to create a sound file that best represents their personal preferences.
Due by early March.
Thanks to Dan Hartman AKA omv@mit.edu for assisting in the original list.
